Biodegradable Bio Bag

BIOPLASTIC BIODEGRADABLE BAG CYCLE
What is a Biodegradable Bag? What is a Degradable Bag?

Biodegradable bags (degradable bags) are a type of bioplastic bag derived from renewable biological sources such as plant-based solid and liquid oils, plant starches (sugar cane, corn, potatoes), or microorganisms. These bags exhibit biodegradable properties and decompose over time in the natural environment, turning into compostable humus soil. Therefore, biodegradable bags also have recycling bag characteristics. At Hoşgör Plastik, we produce biodegradable and compostable bags according to EN 13432 standards with Tüv Austria certification.

What Are Not Bioplastic Bags or Biodegradable Bags?

Oxodegradable, or oxo-degradable (bio-degradable) plastic bags are not bioplastic bags and cannot be classified as biodegradable bags. Plastic bags containing oxo-degradation additives generally degrade due to these additives but do not exhibit complete biodegradability.

Biodegradability and Compostability
  • Biodegradable Bags: These are bags that break down biologically with the help of microorganisms, turning into basic substances like CO2 and water, and thus integrate into the natural cycle.
  • Compostable Bags: These bags decompose in a controlled environment within a maximum of 180 days, turning into compostable soil that can be used for planting.
